Summer Orientation and Academic Registration (SOAR) begins the process for becoming a UE student.

SOAR Registration Info

Beginning in late February, students who have deposited with UE will be mailed information about our Summer Orientation and Academic Registration program (SOAR). This mailing will arrive from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. The SOAR mailing will include the following:

  • A welcome letter from the dean of students.

  • Instructions for registering for a required SOAR session; SOAR registration will open in early March, 2015.

  • Important testing and assessment information including the password for online foreign language placement testing to be completed at home in advance of SOAR attendance.

  • Instructions for registering for fall housing and/or meal plans on WebAdvisor; housing registration opens in early March, 2015.

  • A parent’s packet of information including information from the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, and information about parent lodging and registration packages available for SOAR–we want parents to attend, too!

  • Important health information and required records so you can schedule a physical and gather immunization records. These must be on file in the University health center before classes begin, and it is best to have them on file before you register for classes during SOAR.

  • A preparing for SOAR checklist–also be sure to check this website to see what to bring to SOAR.

The student fee that covers SOAR, as well as Welcome Week activities, has been included in your admission deposit. The SOAR fee for parents is based on the option package chosen and can be paid when registering online.

Please note: SOAR sessions are limited in size and are filled on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, you should complete your online SOAR registration form as soon as possible, as sessions fill quickly. Remember, registration opens in early March, 2015. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 800-423-8633, ext. 2500.

Please visit the Welcome Week page for additional information about Welcome Week, a program required of entering freshmen that occurs over the week preceding the start of fall classes. Students will receive an informational packet in the mail in mid-July.
