Admission Requirements for the PhD Program

A comprehensive selection process is utilized to support a rigorous, post-professional graduate program. Applicants must possess:

  • Master’s degree or professional clinical doctorate from a regionally accredited college or University
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a healthcare practitioner and/or one year of experience in an educator role.
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 in all graduate coursework
  • Personal statement describing why you wish to pursue a PhD in Health Professions Education and your career goals
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Currently active professional license
  • Two professional references
  • $50 application fee

Applications will be reviewed by an admission team consisting of the Program Director, Director of Graduate Admission, and a faculty member. Those who are selected for the interview process will be contacted by the University.
