Governance
Overview
The Student Government Association (SGA) operates under a defined governance structure and established policies that ensure transparency, accountability, and effective representation of the student body. SGA is structured through three primary bodies: the Executive Board, the Student Senate, and the Assembly of Student Organizations. Together, these bodies establish policy, represent student interests, and oversee the recognition and accountability of student organizations.
Governance and Bylaws
The SGA Constitution and Bylaws establish the organizational framework of the association. These documents define the structure, authority, and procedures of SGA, including:
- The roles and responsibilities of the Executive Board, Student Senate, and Assembly
- Membership eligibility and representation requirements
- Standing and ad hoc committees
- Legislative procedures and voting protocols
- Organizational recognition and standing
- Amendment processes and governance review standards
The Constitution serves as the foundational charter of the organization, while the Bylaws provide detailed operational guidance. For complete and authoritative language regarding SGA governance, please refer to the official governing documents.
