Volunteer Opportunities
Part of being a great volunteer is loving what you are doing. Being a volunteer, for whatever purpose, is commendable and a service to one’s community. At the University of Evansville we have a wide-variety of volunteer opportunities on and off campus. Alumni, parents, friends, and students of the University are encouraged to participate in these various opportunities.
The projects and programs below are administered by the Office of Alumni and Engagement. For more information, contact us at 812-488-2586 or alumni@evansville.edu, or volunteer online today!
UE Connect and Alumni Resource
UE Connect is designed to assist students with career-related needs and to connect them with engaged alumni who will support and champion their professional goals. There are a variety of ways to get involved:
- Student Alumni Mentoring Program – Mentor a student and share your professional experiences.
- UE Professional Network – Become an alumni resource and connect with students.
- UE Alumni Online Community – Join and keep your profile up to date so students may reach out to you.
- Participate in career days, fairs, seminars, and forums.
Career Referral
Share and Connect with talented students and alumni. We encourage you to post available positions and internships at your company. You don’t need to be the HR rep or hiring manager—you just need to have an interest in finding and helping talented UE students and alumni. Posting a job is as easy as copying your position’s description and application instructions into the Career Referral form and adding your contact information. In less than five minutes, you can further both your company’s and a fellow alum’s or student’s future. After you submit the form, a member of the Center for Career Development office will be in touch with you to discuss the posting and actively promote it to students and faculty.
Parents Association
The Parents Association comprises all parents of current undergraduate UE students. Parents automatically become members when their son or daughter enrolls at UE. The Parents Association offers opportunities for parents from across the country to be active with the University through the Evansville Admissions Ambassadors program and UE connect activities, parent-to-parent outreach, and regional University events.
Reunion Volunteers
Reunions with special gift campaigns are held each fall during Homecoming Reunion Weekend. To help make these reunions and gift programs successful, reunion volunteers contact and encourage classmates and friends to take part. You can register online as a reunion volunteer for your class or specialty group.
UE African American Alumni
The UEAAA fosters and maintains a close and supportive connection among UE African American alumni and current and prospective students. In addition to an annual meeting and participation in campus activities, the association raises funds to support the endowed Zerah Priestly Carter University of Evansville African American Scholarship. All African American alumni are members of the UEAAA. To volunteer to assist with UEAAA activities contact Alumni Relations at 812-488-2586 or alumni@evansville.edu.
