Civil Engineering at UE
The civil engineering program at the University of Evansville prepares students for the future by guiding students to a deeper understanding of issues and constraints affecting civil engineers around the world.
The civil engineering curriculum prepares students to meet present and future challenges in the profession and develop insight into economic, physical, social, and political constraints affecting the engineering decision-making process.
The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering requires at least 126 hours of course work distributed as follows:
General Education (37 Hours Minimum)
- First-Year Seminar (3 hours)
- Fine Arts (3 hours)
- Humanities (9 hours)
- Social Science (6 hours)
- Health and Wellness (1 hour)
- Mathematics 221 (4 hours)
- Chemistry 118 and Physics 210 (8 hours)
- Civil Engineering 495 (3 hours)
- Foreign Language (6 hours or proficiency)
In addition, the University proficiency requirements for writing in English must be met (see University degree requirements).

All civil engineering seniors are required to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination as a requirement for graduation. Passing the FE exam is the first step in the process of becoming a licensed professional engineer (P.E.).
