The Department of Student Life invites applications for a full-time, 10-month contracted appointment as a Counselor in the Office of Counseling Services (August 1-May 31) with a starting date of January 4, 2021. Subsequent contracts will begin on August 1, 2021. The Counselor will join 3 other mental health counselors in a dynamic team setting to provide individual and group counseling to a diverse student population. The Counselor will make assessments for mental health issues that include adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and substance abuse issues, as well as triage and evaluate mental health crises to provide short-term, goal focused therapy. This Counselor will assist the team in facilitating programming related to stress management, alcohol/substance abuse awareness, and other topics relevant to the college aged population.
Educational and credentialing requirements include MSW and LSW; LCSW preferred with minimum of 1-year experience. Advanced clinical counseling skills are needed.
