John C. Moore Honors Scholars
Each year, a select group of Honors Scholars will be awarded a full-tuition Moore Scholarship.
This highly selective scholarship has been named for John C. Moore, the original UE Changemaker who dreamed of creating a college for his community. His vision became a reality on February 10, 1854, when the original charter for the nation’s fifth co-educational college was drafted. Although the name of that school has changed from Moores Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute to the University of Evansville, this full-tuition scholarship recognizes that Moore’s legacy lives through the exceptional work of current UE students.
John C. Moore Scholarship Recipients are Honors Scholars who have a deep interest in developing their changemaking and leadership skills. Through the application process, in addition to embodying some of the qualities listed above, they demonstrate an exceptional aptitude for communication, collaboration, and continued growth.
