University of Evansville

UE's Department of Music offers five music degrees and a comprehensive curriculum.

Orchestra/String Ensemble

The University of Evansville Symphony Orchestra is a full orchestra that performs traditional symphonic repertoire, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and Gershwin. Both the University Symphony Orchestra and the String Ensemble are open to all students on campus, and I invite you to participate in the enriching musical experience of playing in an orchestra.

- Prof. Jessica Morel, Director of Orchestral Activities

Symphony Orchestra

The University Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble open to both music majors and non-music majors. Composed of nearly 60 student musicians, the orchestra presents four concerts each year featuring repertoire ranging from time-honored favorites to avant-garde masterpieces as well as solo appearances by guest artists, UE music faculty and winners of the annual Vukovich concerto competition.

String Ensemble

The String Ensemble is a select group of string performers with a focus on literature for the small ensemble. Performing opportunities have included appearances in the Neu Chapel Bach Cantata Series, Vespers Concerts, Holiday Pops, Baroque opera, and campus recitals.
