Carnegie Hall

"The University of Evansville has a vibrant and active choral program. I invite you to explore some of our current opportunities in choral music at UE, which include: University Choir, Kantorei, Choral Society, and Women's Chorus."

— Dr. Dennis Malfatti
Director of Choral Activities

University Choir

Composed of UE's finest vocal talent, the University Choir has built a reputation for performances of a wide range of choral music from various eras. The choir has performed by invitation for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Conference in Chicago, which is among the highest honors an American choir can receive, as well as twice for the Indiana Music Educators Association (IMEA) State Convention. The University Choir has also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in both 2011 and in 2016. The choir has had the privilege of performing in masterclasses with the world-renowned vocal ensembles Chanticleer and The King's Singers and has performed alongside legendary vocal artist Bobby McFerrin as well as with the New York Voices. Membership in the choir includes both music majors as well as students majoring in disciplines outside of music. Admission into the choir is by audition.

Choral Society

Our largest choir on campus, the UE Choral Society is open to students, faculty, and staff from across campus as well as singers from throughout the Tri-State region who have a passion for choral singing. Choral Society performs each year in the annual Fall Concert, the Holiday Pops Concert at the Victory Theatre, and in the Spring major-works concert with the University Choir. UE students may register for Choral Society as a class and community members may sign-up on our Community Ensembles page.
