University of Evansville Wind Ensemble

The University of Evansville Wind Ensemble is comprised of approximately 45 of our finest brass, woodwind, and percussion performers. The ensemble performs a wide variety of literature from major masterworks for the modern wind band to more intimate chamber literature and is also actively involved in commissioning and performing new works. In 2016, the Wind Ensemble hosted composer Michael Daugherty, performing his work Rio Grande.

In addition to campus concerts, the group represents the University both regionally and nationally. The UE Wind Ensemble preformed at the 2011 Chicagoland Band Festival in Arlington Heights, Illinois; the 2013 Indiana Music Educators Association Conference in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and most recently the UE Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2016 College Band Directors National Association North Central Conference on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Membership is by audition and is open to any UE student, regardless of his/her major.

University Band

The University Band is made up of both music majors and non-music majors. The University Band performs both traditional and contemporary works for winds and percussion, presenting one concert each semester. In addition to concert performances, University Band serves as our athletic band (UE Aces Brass) which performs at Men's and Women's home basketball games and travels to the MVC and NCAA tournaments.

Membership is open to any UE student, regardless of his/her major.
