Madeline Beeson
Class of 2019, Music Performance, Voice
During her time at the University of Evansville, Madeline was a member of the Beta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota Women's Music Fraternity and had the pleasure of serving as treasurer and Vice President Membership. Madeline was awarded the Ruby Sword of Honor as well as Member of the Year in 2019. She was also very involved in the opera program, roles including Despina in Cosí fan tutte and Valencienne in The Merry Widow. In the summer of 2018, Madeline was a young artist at the Music Academy International YAP where she played Lucinda in the European Premiere of Nico Muhly's Dark Sisters. She had the honor to work with renown artists including Caren Levine, Harolyn Blackwell, and David Gately.
After graduating from the University of Evansville, Madeline attended East Carolina University and earned a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Performance under the direction of Dr. Jami Rhodes. During this time, Madeline was involved in Concert Choir, taught privately, and served as the Assistant Director for the virtual premier of Mark Taggart's opera, The Dreamer. She was also inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, the American Honors Society of Music.
Madeline moved back to Evansville with her husband Craig, a UE alumnus, and opened up Beeson Studio of Voice LLC in downtown Evansville in June of 2021 where she has the distinct pleasure of teaching private voice lessons. In addition to private teaching, she also serves as the Director of Vocal Music at Benjamin Bosse High School since 2021. Music has always been Madeline's passion, and she is so grateful to share that passion in the city that she loves.
During her time at UE, Madeline made several wonderful friends and fostered a deeper love for music and teaching. She was able to explore music in classes full of students and professors with the same passion. The sense of community within UE and the department of music was unlike anything she'd experienced before. After graduating from the University of Evansville, Madeline felt incredibly prepared and excited to build her career and to instill a love and respect for music in the next generation.
