Sigma Alpha Iota

We are the Beta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity at the University of Evansville. We are a group of women and non-binary individuals who bond over our shared love of music. Our mission is to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music throughout the world. Sigma Alpha lota helps foster connections between industry professionals and our sisters in many professions. We support the UE Music Conservatory, the greater Evansville community, and worldwide through service and support to our charitable arm, SAI Philanthropies Inc., which supports various music communities in need.

Members of SAI are active in all areas of campus music and campus life, working closely with faculty, administration, campus and community groups, music professionals and patrons. In addition to personal encouragement and support, members may receive scholarships and awards in many areas and at all levels of music-related study. The Beta Epsilon Chapter has a long history of awards and service to the campus. SAI provides ushers at every concert on campus and actively participates in fundraising events sponsored by other organizations. A current project includes a public musicale in collaboration with Evansville Alumnae chapter of SAI, featuring Women and Non-binary Composers in Music.

Membership is open to any full-time student who demonstrates a sincere interest in music, has completed a MUS course at UE, and has a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Not all members are music majors! Music major or not, we all love music and are passionate about making music and furthering the place of underrepresented musicians. All with a passion for music and the arts are encouraged! SAI is an excellent way to participate in collegiate music events and make friends with those who have a common interest in music. SAI will help you make connections with other musicians all over the nation.
