Assistant Professor in the School of Education and Lilly Grant Coordinator

The School of Education invites applications for a Full-Time Assistant Professor/Lilly Grant Coordinator (non-tenure track faculty position, grant supported). This is a 12-month grant-funded position in the School of Education. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the Science of Reading and literacy and know current curricular expectations for effective 21st-century elementary classroom teaching, excellent technology skills such as the use of Google Workspace, Activpanel Promethean Board, and ActiveInspire software, along with superior collaboration and communication skills. Individuals should be knowledgeable in the IDOE Science of Reading Requirements. Responsibilities include grant reporting for the Lilly Grant, teaching literacy courses, supervising pre-service teachers in clinical experiences, engaging in department-related service activities, and participating in program area committees. 

Candidates will be an early literacy expert with knowledge of Science of Reading expectations set by the Indiana Department of Education, current curricular expectations for effective elementary classroom teaching, and superior collaboration and communication skills as well as recent K-5 teaching experience. The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in Education and a minimum of five years of K-5 teaching experience.
