Disability Services Counselor
The Disability Services Counselor will provide a variety of services for students with disabilities including determining appropriate accommodations to allow access to University courses, programs, and activities. This professional would work closely with the Coordinator of Disability Services to provide services for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, medical conditions, physical disabilities, low vision, hearing impairments, autism spectrum disorder, or psychiatric disorders.
In addition to determining appropriate academic accommodations, providing academic support guidance, and communicating with faculty, this counselor would also provide mental health assessments and counseling for those students who also have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or autism spectrum disorder.
The Disability Services Counselor is a benefit eligible ten-month position working 40 hours per week. This counselor will participate with three other counselors for emergency on-call rotation.
Qualified candidates must have counseling skills and experience with disabilities. MS in counseling/ social work or related field and one-year practical experience (i.e. clinical, internship, employment) is required.
