Administrative Assistant for Nurse Anesthesia Program

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant for the Nurse Anesthesia program provides professional assistance to the Nurse Anesthesia program as well as clinical assistance as needed to the College of Education and Health Sciences. The administrative assistant’s primary duties are to manage the office, maintain records, and provide customer service to internal constituents and the external community.  Additional duties include (but are not limited to): assisting the Eykamp Center for Teaching Excellence (approx. 8hrs/wk. and other duties as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to the chair, the full time and adjunct faculty.
  2. Manage the office, maintain records, and provide customer service.
  3. Create, manage and problem solve related to Director’s schedule.
  4. Order office and lab supplies and arrange deliveries.
  5. Communicate with adjunct faculty members
  6. Respond to questions and requests from faculty, staff, students and others via telephone, email, writing or in person.
  7. Reserve rooms for events and meetings
  8. Prepare check requests, purchase orders and internal charge paperwork.
  9. Provide support for the ECTE:  coordinate schedule for new faculty orientation, format documents and emails, maintain and order supplies, maintain ECTE website, oversee budget and accounting responsibilities
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited institution; preference with experience in academics; Associate degree accepted; High school diploma required
  2. Enthusiasm and commitment for the University of Evansville
  3. Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  4. Strong technology skills including experience with database integration
  5. Be able to navigate and learn new web-based applications
  6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  7. Must be professional in all interactions
