Residential Coordinator

Newly upgraded to expempt status, the Residential Coordinator (RC) is a full-time live-in university administrator reporting to Residence Life and the Center for Student Engagement. This unique position works collaboratively within Residence Life and Student Engagement. This position is a full-time live-in University administrator with a variety of campus responsibilities.

Residential Coordinator (RC) responsibilities include management of one or more residential area(s) of 100-293 students and supervising a student head resident in an adjacent building. Within Residence Life, the RC works in areas of residence hall administration, staff supervision, crisis management/referral, monitoring health and safety standards, upholding community standards, and assisting in Student Life collaborative events and functions. Position includes establishing a strong resident assistant staff team, providing leadership in the delivery of social and educational programming and events within the hall, coordinating and tracking hall programs, advising Hall Council, participating in shared on-call responsibilities, holding student discipline meetings, and supporting theme living (depending on building placement). Each Residential Coordinator coordinates a segment of central residence life functions such as RA training, RA selection, summer conferences/housing, department marketing and communications, student organization advising, and/or other duties as assigned.

RCs provide key high-quality programs and services for the campus community that enhance the student experience. Responsibilities in Student Engagement coordinate with the unique communities and programs within their residence halls and specialized needs within Student Engagement. The RC actively participates and leads as needed in program development. Core responsibilities may fall within functional areas of leadership and community development, community service, and international and/or multicultural engagement. Responsibilities assigned within Student Engagement may constitute up to 1/4 of the position.

This position requires strong supervisory, organizational, and human relations abilities, as well as professional verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary. Direct experience in student life or residential life preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary is commensurate with exempt status. This is a twelve month, full time, salaried exempt appointment with full university benefits. Due to the nature of the position, a furnished one-bedroom residence hall efficiency apartment and a standard Fall and Spring meal plan is provided by the University.
