Financial Aid Counselor

The University of Evansville Office of Student Financial Services (SFS) has one opening for a Financial Aid Counselor to start June 5, 2023. We are seeking individuals who are hard-working, and compassionate team players who find joy in helping students achieve their dreams.

Qualified candidates will have earned a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 3 years customer service experience; financial aid experience preferred. Applicants must be able to provide exceptional customer service, as SFS team members work directly with students, families, and the entire campus community. This position requires the capability to work both independently and collaboratively, while demonstrating excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills along with a keen attention to detail. Candidates should possess the ability to present a calm demeanor while assisting families through the financial aid process. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide information to prospective and current students and their families in person and online regarding financial aid eligibility and renewal requirements
  • Manage Athletic financial aid administration
  • Process Verification materials for Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Complete requests for reports/surveys related to financial aid data
  • Review and monitor aid eligibility/renewal of institutional scholarship programs
  • Review and monitor aid eligibility/renewal for State Grant programs
  • Other duties as assigned
