Acute Care Physical Therapy Residency Program Admission Criteria

Applications are now open for our August 2024 - August 2025 resident cycle on RF - PTCAS.
We will accept applications through March 15, 2024.

Admission Criteria

  • Be a graduate of a CAPTE accredited physical therapist program.
  • Provide proof of licensure for the state of Indiana (permanent by the start of residency). If an applicant possesses a temporary license, he or she must complete and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) within 90 days of being granted temporary licensure. Failure to receive permanent licensure prior to the start of residency may result in dismissal from the Program.
  • Complete an in-person interview (may be able to arrange video interview in certain situations).
  • Application to include the follow items:
    • Provide proof of current Basic Life Support Certification.
    • Submit an admission statement outlining reason pursuing the residency program and previous experience in the setting (limit to two pages).
    • Submit current curriculum vitae, including all continuing education courses attended, and academic history including transcript from the university in which physical therapy education was received.
    • Submit reference letters from three physical therapists, at least one of whom should be a previous instructor or academician and one from a clinician.
  • Application must be completed in full on RF-PTCAS by the deadline of March 15 each year.
