Program Goals
Effective learning program:
- Residents will achieve >80% average on written exams over the year.
- Surgery/Procedure observations opportunity
- Access to Hospital and University Libraries
Knowledgeable clinical skill:
- Competent to proficient ratings on Live Patient Exams.
- Monthly Journal Club Meetings (September – May) attendance
- Completion of research
- Grand Rounds Presentations
Interdisciplinary focus:
- Opportunity to interact with nursing staff, physicians, occupational therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, case management, and other ancillary staff through multi-disciplinary rounding.
- Use of clinical skills software in curriculum
Learning Objectives
Communication:
- Develop skills by giving presentations.
- Interprofessional communication opportunities
Develop clinical education skills:
- Teaching at University level Doctor of Physical Therapy program
- Experience as a CI in collaboration with a clinical mentor
Contribution to Society:
- Community Outreach opportunities
- Treating patients in a pro-bono clinic
